For those of you who couldn't listen live on November 9, here's a link to my spirited discussion with Jason about my new book, the aftermath of Election 2020, the media-manufactured racial and political division, and more.
Jason and I don't always agree on everything, but we're on the same page about what we think is most important now: the urgent need to bridge the divide in America.
If you don't have a copy already, you can buy my book on Amazon now.
Cheers!
Interesting, the title “President Elect” was first used before the Electoral College vote by Obama and then Trump. As I understand it, the Twentieth Amendment to the US Constitution references the “President Elect” shall be sworn in at Noon on January 20th.
It would seem that the informal use of this Title has only recently become a point in contention, like so many other things.
Thanks, V. Actually, I was actually wrong (the hazards of speaking off-the-cuff) w/r/t Gore. He was 4 electoral votes shy of Bush and was never given President-elect status. However, I do believe this is the first time a candidate has been given President-elect status in a disputed election in which the current president hasn’t conceded.
Nice interview, I also wasn’t aware that Gore had been the media’s “President Elect“. Polls and the news media seem to cause more trouble than good.
